Our Impact
Bringing people together: to connected and make lasting change
At Well Connected, we believe that strong communities are built through meaningful relationships, accessible opportunities, and inclusive support. Everything we do is designed to help people feel connected, welcomed, valued and respected. By creating trusted relationships, sharing knowledge and giving people opportunities to contribute, we help individuals build confidence, improve their wellbeing and strengthen their connections with others.
Our work brings communities, people with lived experience, healthcare professionals, students and partner organisations together. These connections help create healthier individuals and more connected communities.
Our impact at a glance
Our Three Ways of Connecting
Community
We bring people together to share experiences, reduce isolation and create supportive networks where everyone feels included.
Our knowledge of local communities allows us to connect organisations with the people they want to reach. We listen carefully, build trusted relationships and create opportunities for community voices to influence projects, education and services.
Partner feedback highlights Well Connected’s ability to develop strong community relationships, create networks and bring a valuable community-centred perspective to collaborative projects.
Education
We create opportunities for students and professionals to learn directly from people with lived experience.
Through workshops, discussions and Experts by Experience sessions, learners can ask questions, hear honest experiences and develop a deeper understanding of the people behind different health conditions and circumstances.
Feedback collected by Well Connected describes these sessions as offering a unique and supportive learning environment. Partners particularly value the compassion, knowledge and lived experience that contributors bring, alongside Well Connected’s organisation and facilitation of the sessions.
Oral Health
We promote positive dental habits and make oral health information more accessible.
Our oral health projects connect communities, students and healthcare professionals, helping people understand that oral health is an important part of their overall health and wellbeing.
Our impact activity has included distributing 500 toothbrushes and tubes of toothpaste, alongside workshops, community engagement and educational opportunities.
The Difference We Make
For people and communities
We create welcoming opportunities for people to share their experiences, feel listened to and contribute to work that can influence future services and professionals.
People involved with Well Connected value the opportunity to connect with others, have their experiences recognised and make a positive difference through the work they love.
For students and future professionals
Students gain time and space to listen, ask questions and learn directly from real people.
Partners report that these experiences help students develop empathy, reflective practice and a better understanding of the challenges people may face outside a clinical environment.
For organisations
We help organisations build authentic relationships with communities, develop new opportunities and include community voices within their work.
Feedback highlights Well Connected’s local knowledge, community connections, creativity, organisation and ability to bring a fresh, community-centred perspective to projects.
““The Well Connected team are fantastic and pioneering in the field. Reaching out to those that need it the most is exactly what we should all be doing.””
