Celebrating Doaa Shayea’s Commonwealth Games Journey

We are delighted to celebrate our trustee, Doaa Shayea, as she prepares to represent Team England in Para Powerlifting ay the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games this July.

Doaa is currently attending a training camp in Loughborough as she continues her preparations for the Games, which will take place in Glasgow from 23rd July to 2nd August 2026. Her selection is a wonderful achievement and reflects years of dedication, resilience and hard work.

As a Well Connected trustee, Doaa brings powerful lived experience, insight and leadership to our work. She is a disability rights activist, public speaker and athlete who continues to challenge barriers, increase visibility and inspire others through her commitment to inclusion and representation.

Everyone at Well Connected is incredibly proud of Doaa. We will be cheering her on as she takes this exciting next step on the international stage and celebrates what is possible when determination, community and opportunity come together.
